Nobody in the city knew exactly why Crescent Cinema had been built so cheaply.
The building was enormous, beautiful, and strangely old-fashioned. It had hundreds of seats, a giant red curtain, and a basement that was always kept locked.
But there was one thing everyone knew.
The cinema had been built on an old kabristan.
The cemetery had existed there for more than a hundred years before the cinema was constructed. During the construction, several workers claimed they had discovered human bones beneath the ground.
The owners denied everything. They said the bones belonged to an abandoned burial site and that there was nothing to worry about.
But after the cinema opened, strange things began happening. People started complaining about one particular seat:
Seat 13, Row G.

At first, nobody took the stories seriously.
A man once sat there during a late-night horror movie. Halfway through the film, he suddenly stood up and ran out of the theater. He refused to explain what happened.
Another woman sat in the same seat a week later. During the movie, she began crying. When her friend asked what was wrong, she whispered:
“Someone is sitting next to me.”
Her friend looked. The seat beside her was empty. Then the woman pointed toward Seat 13: “There is someone sitting there.”
But she was already sitting there herself.
The cinema staff checked the security cameras. The footage showed the woman sitting alone. Nothing else.

After that, more people reported strange experiences.
- Some felt someone breathing behind their neck.
- Some heard whispering.
- Some suddenly smelled wet soil and flowers.
- And a few people claimed they saw a pale figure sitting in the seat beside them.
The strangest part was that almost everyone who sat in Seat 13 experienced something different.
One person saw his dead father. Another saw a woman crying. Someone else saw a child standing in the aisle.
And one man claimed he saw himself sitting in the same seat—dead.
The cinema management eventually decided to block the seat. They placed a thick chain barrier across Seat 13 and attached a small sign:
SEAT CLOSED — DO NOT USE

For years, nobody questioned it. Until one night, a new employee named Rohan joined the cinema.
He had never heard the stories.
During a busy Saturday night, every seat was occupied except one: Seat 13.
The manager noticed Rohan looking at it.
“Don't sit there,” he warned.
Rohan laughed. “Why?”
The manager's face became serious. “Just don't.”
But Rohan thought the old man was joking. Later that night, while cleaning the theater, he noticed that the chain had fallen onto the floor. He looked around. The cinema was empty.
Curious, Rohan sat down.

The moment his body touched the seat—
the screen went black.
The projector stopped. The emergency lights flickered.
Then Rohan heard someone whisper directly into his ear:
“Finally…”
He jumped up. Nobody was there.
Then the cinema screen turned on by itself. But it wasn't showing a movie. It showed the cinema building. Then the image changed. The cinema disappeared.
In its place was an old cemetery. Hundreds of graves covered the screen.
Rohan couldn't move.
A woman appeared in the middle of the cemetery. She was wearing an old white dress. She slowly raised her hand and pointed toward Rohan. Then she whispered:
“They built your cinema over our graves.”
Suddenly, Rohan saw hundreds of people standing behind her. All of them were dead. All of them were staring at him.

The lights came back on. Rohan screamed and ran out.
The manager found him outside, shaking uncontrollably.
“What did you see?”
Rohan pointed toward the theater. “They aren't angry because people sit there.”
The manager stared at him. “Then why?”
Rohan swallowed.
“They're angry because the seat isn't really a seat.”
The manager's face went pale. “What do you mean?”
Rohan whispered:
“It's a grave.”

The next morning, the cinema was closed.
Workers removed the seat and broke open the floor beneath it.
Underneath the concrete, they discovered human bones.
Not one body.
Twenty-seven bodies.
The original cemetery records were later found. The graves had belonged to people whose families had never been told that the cemetery was being destroyed. The cinema had unknowingly been built directly over the burial ground.

But there was one final mystery.
When the workers returned to remove the remaining seats, they discovered something impossible.
There were supposed to be 26 seats in Row G. But the cinema's original blueprint showed 27. The missing seat was Seat 13.
Nobody knew who had removed it. And nobody knew who had put it back.
Because after the cinema reopened months later, the manager found a chain hanging across the row. Behind it was a brand-new seat:
Seat 13.
The seat was covered in fresh mud. And carved into its back was a message:
“Please don't sit on us.”
From that day forward, the chain was never removed again.
But people who walk past the theater late at night still claim they can hear something from inside: the sound of an audience whispering, sometimes crying, and sometimes—the sound of someone slowly sitting down.
Creeeeak.
Creeeeak.
Creeeeak.
As if the dead are still waiting for someone to take their seat.
